Making QR codes standout

Quick link to some more creative QR codes… due to the 30% tolerance in readability, some designers have come up with great ways to make them stand out. I’m particularly liking the ones made with real objects: whaddaya think?

See yourself as a friend of Gromit?

To promote their new range of stamps the Royal Mail have a cheeky little device that allows you to design an Aardman, ‘Wallace and Gromit’ style character in your own likeness – that’s meant to be me on the right!

And then, my chums, you can enter to win a likeness of you and three others, handmade in the Aardman studios. Cracking competition Gromit.

Make a swiiish!

I was watching tele the other night and I saw this advert for Pantene’s new hair care range Aqua Light. Being the sap I am when it comes to advertising hair/makeup products (I’m easily convinced!) I thought the name Aqua Light sounded so refreshing for my hair! Hmmm…
Anyway, the face of the advert is Cat Deeley and they have created an online campaign Make a Swiiish! Where you upload a photo of you ‘swiiishing’ your hair like they do on the adverts and you go into a prize draw for a nice holiday. People can rate the photo too. Sweet.
Seems like a nice little fun campaign. I could see it working for Macmillan but with less swiiishing and more events/challenges photos or campaigns message photos (like people holding up messages like Bob Dylan ).
